BlackFork Distillery is located on BlackFork Farms, a 6th generation family farm in Eastern South Dakota. Dedicated to their motto of "premium grain - premium stills - premium barrels" this state-of-the-art craft distillery is an absolute must visit for any whiskey fan. This 4-grain straight bourbon whiskey was aged for six long winters in air-dried Ozark oak, imparting deep and dark flavors reminiscent of the rugged South Dakota landscape that produced its' grains. We visited this remote distillery (for us, anyway) in March 2024 and immediately fell in love with their process. Their technical approach and use of smoked, heirloom grains produces a whiskey unlike any other on the craft scene.
